The 2016 Approved Code of Practice for the Management and Removal of Asbestos remains legally in force. The new documents are good practice guidelines that sit alongside the ACOP rather than replacing it. WorkSafe has indicated that three of the new guidelines — covering surveys, removal, and assessments — will eventually be developed into updated ACOPs as part of broader health and safety reforms.
